Honored to have been selected to be Production Designer on the exhibition titled, “Queer City” in New York which ran on Thursday this past week. The exhibit was sponsored and curated by CNN and presents a decade-by-decade journey through New York City’s queer history, beginning with the 1940s and continuing to present day. Presentations focus on telling intimate personal stories with journal entries, photos, ephemera and audio video, creating nuanced accounts of their lives. Many of the people profiled in the exhibition were present at the opening and it was wonderful seeing their reactions to the exhibition. A BIG thanks to Exhibitcraft Studios for top-notch fabrication and Spearhead Marketing Group for exceptional planning and production.
I got home from Shanghai two weeks ago. My luggage arrived yesterday...😳
Shibui Design is on vacation and recharging their creative spirits! Cheers!
It’s been so busy here @shibui_design that we’ve got a lot of catching up to do! Here’s the most recent project-a photo wall for PNC at the Peachtree Road Race.
Today’s design feature is brought to you by the number 8. Corporate sponsor to be named at a later date...
A crate awaiting a podium and a podium awaiting a crate...
Podium for Rockbridge Church. Nice to see designs come to life!
Hard at work on a new podium design!
A recent project for @hiestheatre and @lucydirects for the Upper School Spring play, Agatha Rex. The logo was designed by a technical theatre student. We made a template and then spray painted it on the theatre deck. 🎭
It’s been so busy here at the Shibui Design office that we’ve had to promote Koukla, chief barista, to associate designer...busy is a good “problem” to have!
